Monica stopped by “The Real” talk show the other day to chop it up with the co-hosts. But of course, she couldn’t leave without being asked about the infamous #SoGoneChallenge on Twitter AND the subsequent perceived diss from Brandy, regarding the challenge.

MONICA ON BRANDY’S DISS: “THAT WAS A TEST FROM GOD”

In case you missed the alleged diss, Brandy was asked by a fan on Instagram, if she was going to take part in the Monica #SoGoneChallenge and Brandy simply replied “Chile bye.”

Afterwards everybody and their Mommas took Brandy’s quote and ran with it as the ultimate diss to Monica, which probably wouldn’t have been as blown up if she and Monica didn’t already have a long-rumored beef stemming from way-back-when.

Anyways, our girl, Monica, handled Brandy’s supposed diss with class when she responded to “The Real’s” question regrading how she felt about what Brandy said…

Monica told “The Real” co-hosts this: “I’ll tell you, I’m not bothered at all. Honestly, the old me and the new me are two different things, and this journey of self- progression and self- love and empowerment that I’m on, I can’t go backwards. I think that, that was just a test from God for me and I’ve always thought that she was one of the most legendary people and, has one of the most amazing voices in the runs and riffs. And I just think that it’s, some of it, has been blown out of proportion to a degree, but I can’t tell my kids to do something that I can’t do. So it was just a test for me to, uh, always just take the high road and know that in anything that happens in this life, if it’s meant for you, it’s yours. Nobody can stop it or stand in the way of it.”

Well said Monica. Now hopefully you and Brandy will give your fans another jam like “The Boy Is Mine”…that was a hot collabo’ right there! Gotta love the memories of real R&B…
