“He’s Not Here To Defend Himself”

Jackson was acquitted in 2005 in a criminal trial after being accusing of molesting 13-year-old Gavin Arvizo.

“For me, it’s sad and disheartening. That man welcomed you in his home and you spoke of how beautiful, and all the love this man has shown children all over the world. When we’re calling someone a molester and they’re no longer here…Michael Jackson is not here to defend himself, which is a major problem,” Mo’Nique stated.

You Allowed This?

“[He was] found not guilty…then you come back and you allow these two men to get on your platform and tell this story, and that man cannot defend himself, who does that?” she added.

Mo’Nique added that Wade Robson’s lawsuit against the Jackson estate was thrown out back in 2014.

The couple also took calls from the public, including one listener who claimed Oprah for capitalizing off of the downfall of public black figures. Another caller said that they were waiting for Winfrey to have an interview special about her former associate Harvey Weinstein. Dozens of women have accused the former Hollywood executive and co-founder of Miramax of sexual abuse and sexual harassment.

Mo’Nique and Winfrey’s beef goes way back. Back in 2017, she accused Lee Daniels, Tyler Perry and Winfrey of blackballing her. The actress won an Oscar for appearing in Daniels’ film Precious.

She claimed the three of them blackballed her from Hollywood after she complained about her low pay for the role. Therefore she objected to promoting the movie. The Parkers actress told a Harlem audience:

“So, thank you, Mr. Lee Daniels. Thank you, Mr. Tyler Perry. Thank you, Ms. Oprah Winfrey. No, baby, I wasn’t blackballed. … It would kill me not to say the real sh*t. You are not paying me equally. You are not treating me fairly. Y’all could s**k my d**k if I had one.”
