Via NYPost: Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter was stabbed to death on a Manhattan sidewalk early Sunday, police said.

E’Dena Hines, 33 — whose grandmother was the actor’s first wife — was stabbed several times in front of W. 162nd St. near St. Nicholas Avenue in Washington Heights just before 3 a.m., cops said. When police arrived, they found her [live-in boyfriend] standing over her lifeless body as he screamed incoherently, sources said.

Hines was taken to Harlem Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The man was arrested and taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, officials said.

It’s unclear why the man snapped, cops said.

Could this be some type of crime of passion? Not really sure, but right now E’Dena’s boyfriend is looking like the only suspect cops are pursuing, but only time will tell if this was a true crime of passion. Sending our condolences to Morgan Freeman and the family.
