Well, well, well…the NFL has heard the outrage of millions of Janet Jackson’s fans loud and clear apparently. The league is now trying to do some damage control yet again. First it was -and still is- their NFL team owners’ putting the league in a horrible position for their blatant discrimination against ousted NFL player, Colin Kaepernick. Now it’s #TeamJanet whose got the NFL League in a tough pickle that they’re currently trying to wiggle their way out of.
Janet Fans Calling For Boycott
In case y’all missed our previous report, the NFL and Justin Timberlake have been catching hell, after Justin announced that the NFL has invited him back to perform at the 2018 Superbowl half time show.
Ever since their 2004 “Nipplegate” ‘accident’ (when Justin “accidentally” expose Janet’s pasties covered breast during their Superbowl performance), both Justin and Janet were reportedly banned from ever performing at the half time show again…until now. As of early Monday, it became clear that only one of them is apparently still banned -or shall we say, uninvited. Justin- along with the help of talk show host, Jimmy Fallon- posted his announcement on Twitter that after 13 years, he has officially been asked to return for a Superbowl half time performance:
I DO have the time. Half the time…#PepsiHalftime #SBLII @Pepsi @NFL @JimmyFallon @FallonTonight pic.twitter.com/4Z4Dz29l3X
— Justin Timberlake (@jtimberlake) October 23, 2017
Fans immediately took to social media to call Justin “trash” for accepting the offer, without demanding that Janet be invited back too. They are also calling for a boycott until she is asked to return. Here are some of the Tweets…

NFL Now Responds To The Janet Backlash
Welp, fast forward to a few hours later and the NFL has released some official words regarding their exclusion of Janet, but not Timberlake…
Via TMZ: If Justin Timberlake wants Janet Jackson in his halftime show, he can have Janet Jackson … because there is NO official ban barring her from performing at Super Bowl 52, TMZ Sports has learned. We reached out to the league and we’re told straight-up, “There’s no ban.”
So, does this mean Timberlake will bring Janet on as a special guest? An NFL spokesperson tells us, “We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests. There may be no guests. Along with Pepsi, we’re excited to have Justin Timberlake.” That’s not exactly a “no” …
The last thing the NFL needs is another discrimination-against-a-Black-person scandal. If Justin Timberlake and the NFL know what’s best for them, they might wanna make sure Janet’s millions of fans see her popping outta the stage with some pyrotechnics and smoke, or something, come Superbowl 52. The NFL’s ratings are already plummeting because of their Kaepernick discrimination…but watch what happens to those ratings if they discriminate against Janet…
