Following Nipsey’s Thursday funeral at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, several celebs dove deep into their pockets to help Nipsey Hussle’s family, after the emotional caravan ended at Nipsey’s Marathon Clothing Store.
It was reported that rappers T.I., Meek Mill, The Game, 2 Chainz; NBA stars, J.R. Smith, DeMar DeRozan and Al Harrington, all cleaned out the store of merchandise to help Nipsey’s family.
It was also reported that the celebs were offered free gear while there and absolutely refused to accept anything for free, instead offering to buy it all and damn near leaving the walls of Marathon bare…
Meek Mill took to Instagram to share a brief clip of the the store’s interior and the clothing that was no longer on the racks, after he and other celebs cleaned it out.
Overall, the outpouring of love Nipsey Hussle has received from celebrities, fans, and politicians -including our forever president, Barack Obama- has been a beautiful reflection of the unselfish, community activist and rap artist that he was. The late Dr. Maya Angelou was said it best- “When you do good, people notice.”
Our continued condolences to Nipsey’s children, parents, siblings, Lauren London, and the rest of their family and loved ones. Rest will Nipsey, after a job well done, King.
