When Samantha filed for guardianship of Emani, she reportedly let the court know that she did not want Tanisha to be made aware about her filing just yet.

Additionally, Nipsey’s family is backing Samantha’s request to care for Emani. In fact, his brother, Sam Blacc, his Father have each signed court docs stating that they think Samantha is the best choice to raise Emani.

Nipsey’s Mother has also reportedly stated that she would like to help raise Emani, along with Samantha.

Emani’s mother, Tanisha Foster is now asking the judge to reject Samantha’s filing for custody of Emani. After their court hearing, Tanisha also stated to The Blast “I love my daughter and I’ll do whatever it takes to get her back.”

The judge hasn’t made that final decision as of yet.

Now, keep in mind that Nipsey had primary custody of Emani. It was also his family whom his daughter was apparently accustomed to being around, which includes Nipsey’s sister, Samantha, whom Emani is reportedly very close to.

It’s unclear why Tanisha didn’t have custody of her child prior to now, but the fact that DCFS has had to intervene in this case, may mean there is more to this story regarding why that is.

Nonetheless, we sincerely hope and pray that Emani ends up in the best possible situation for her psychological/emotional well being.
