Remember Martin Lawrence’s situation with smoking some bad weed and being caught by police walking the street delusional. A witness–who declined to be identified but who said he was an acquaintance of Lawrence–said the actor was cursing, waving his hands and yelling, “Fight the establishment!” He said Lawrence ran out of the street when police arrived and tried to fight them off when they attempted to restrain him.
Lawrence had a handgun in his pants pocket. Police said Lawrence may have had a seizure because he failed to take a prescribed medication, but a statement from Lawrence’s publicist, Kim Jones, offered another explanation.
A doctor found Mr. Lawrence to be suffering from a case of complete exhaustion and dehydration, the statement said.
As for George “P-Funk” Clinton, drug use was common for a touring funk band during the 1970s, but for Clinton, it was crack that took the biggest toll. He once spent a night in jail with Sly Stone after being busted for possession in a Denny’s parking lot.
Another time, he revealed in his book, a teenage Chelsea Clinton (President Bill Clinton’s daughter) came backstage after a show and asked for a picture. Startled by the Secret Service, George was forced to conceal a red-hot crack pipe in one hand while shaking the first daughter’s hand with the other. He’s been clean for nearly 20 years now and has regrets he did so much drugs.
He also has a whole new outlook on life: “One of the best things about getting off crack is not waking up in the morning and thinking about where you’re gonna get it,” He concludes.
