Four months ago Lifetime aired the controversial three-part special, Surviving R. Kelly.

Dozens of women came forward to claim they were emotionally, physically and sexually assaulted by singer, R. Kelly. Some of these women were under the legal age of consent.

The documentary was uneasy viewing, suggesting that fans turned a blind eye to Kelly’s abuse because of his incredible talent.

The docuseries was a ratings hit for the broadcaster, drawing in over 26 million peopleThe #MuteRKelly movement grew even more popular and ultimately led to Kelly’s indictment and arrest.

Now Lifetime is back with a two-hour follow-up special to Surviving R. KellyThe new docu-series, Surviving R. Kelly: The Impact, will be hosted by journalist, Soledad O’Brien.

It will feature survivors of his alleged sex-cult as well as psychologists and legal experts.

A expert panel will also analyze R. Kelly’s infamous interview with Gayle King and the behavior of Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary – his remaining live-in girlfriends. 

Kelly’s Attorney Has Defended His Client

Meanwhile, R. Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, retweeted footage suggesting the #MuteRKelly movement is a conspiracy to destroy the Grammy Award winner’s life.

The video shows an interview with a former female staff-member of R. Kelly’s. She claims she was kept out of Surviving R. Kelly because she refused to slander the singer.
