Here’s The Advice Phylicia Rashad Got From Cosby…
She’s worked a lifetime in movies and TV shows. Reportedly, Rashad was awarded the “Award in Television Excellence,” plus a standing ovation.
Prior to the Cosby Show, Phylicia Rashad came from an extensive background in theater and television commercial. But the source says Bill Cosby guided her through the rest, advising the cast members to simply be themselves while on the set.
Phylicia says Cosby told her:
“I want you to take the time to look at me and trust the audience will be with you. When we were taping the pilot episode, Mr. Cosby said one thing to the entire cast. He said, ‘Don’t try to be funny, just tell the story.'”
At the end of the show, Rashad kept some memorabilia from the kitchen. She says the cookie jar reminded her of the time she spent there.
“It was home,” Phylicia mentions regarding what it represents. “Everyone touched it. When I look at it, I think of the kitchen, and the kitchen is the heart of the home.”
