We’re sending an abundance of love and light to Al B Sure at this time. Unbeknownst to nearly everyone, Al B has just emerged from a two-month hospital stay – a fact that his son, Al B Sure Jr., confirmed.
On Monday (October 31, 2022), Al B Jr. took to Instagram to thank everyone for his birthday wishes, as well as the love they’ve shown to his pops, during his lengthy hospital stay, and now, recovery:
“Thank your every 1 for the bday wishes!! been kinda out of it and in my own world!! @officialalbsure POPS BEEN hospitalized FOR 2 months and he just made it out!! So I’m much better and ready to get back on my shit! It’s time to get the fu*k up pop!! We got Shit to do!!!! And countries to visit! Thank u for all the concerns and worries about my family! Today is my day but this is for my pops! All I want for him is to get out that fu**in hospital!! We need u big homie!! I love all of y’all! And appreciate all of u!” – Al B’s son, Al B Jr
Also on October 31st, Al B Sure then updated fans of his current condition, via Twitter, with a recovery photo of hospital employees assisting him as he seemingly attempted to walk on his own; while simultaneously urging everyone to stay on top of their health:
“A very humble thank you for the prayers my @WBLS1075NYC family. I’m alive, awake, on the mend. Submissively grateful!#AllPraiseisDuetoAllah. I’ll share more of my health experience soon in hopes to encourage us all to stay on top of our #HealthandWellness #GoSeetheDoctor.” – Al B Sure
In recent years, Al B Sure has publicly shared his health struggles. In a prior interview, he revealed he had geriatric surgery in an effort to manage his diabetes and other health issues:
“In terms of health wise I was considered medically obese. I was more than 309 lbs. I really had to do something about it. I did everything I could to get myself to where I needed to be to use God’s blessings and feel comfortable instead of being unhealthy. Having diabetes type 2 and all types of stuff from the weight.”

Additionally, Al B had also hired boxing legend, Roy Jones Jr., to be his personal trainer in order to maintain his health and weight.
Unfortunately, in August 2022, Al B had given his Instagram followers an update about more health battles he was enduring, writing:
“Waking up daily to monitors, wires and machines keeping you stable is a new experience. I have a very humbling, newfound respect for the #Nurses #RN’s & #Doctors that are are on the #frontline and there around the clock making certain that all is well.”
We sincerely hope Al B Sure makes a full recovery soon. And just like Al B said…ILOSM family, let’s all strive to stay on top of our health. Although we’re proud Old Schoolers…the fact still remains: not a single one of us is gettin’ any younger.
