ILOSM fam, Della Reese isn’t looking herself these days. In fact, she’s reportedly calling on angels as her health continues to decline. For those who don’t know, the Touched By An Angel star has been forced to use a wheelchair following two brain operations.
According to Radar Online, Della Reese has had serious complications from type-2 diabetes. The famed gospel and jazz singer has even admitted the bouts she’s faced with diabetes have been life-threatening. “My life is at stake,” she said. “I don’t have type 2 diabetes — type 2 diabetes has me.”
An onlooker even revealed she’s barely recognizable these days. Most fans probably know Della Reese as the striking woman with the distinctive, strong voice that commanded a room, but things are quite different now. “She was barely recognizable,” claimed an onlooker. “She’s clearly deteriorated a lot in the last few years.”

Della has battled with her for quite some time and stood strong. Back in 1979, Della suffered her first aneurysm and even then, she could have been left in a vegetative state if the surgery wasn’t successful, but she made it through.

In 2000, Della was officially diagnosed with diabetes after collapsing on the set of Touched By An Angel. Since then, she’s battled with her health to fight against wheelchair confinement. Her rep claims she’s still able to walk and refuses to be confined. At this point, let’s just hope she continues to fight like we know she can.
