At this point, R. Kelly is in some hot water legally, and so are the key players on the prosecution side, now that his pending 10-count sex abuse case has been shrouded in suspicions of corruption.
For starters, the opposing attorney, Michael Avenatti, has recently been indicted 36 federal counts in an unrelated case. He also was reportedly recorded admitting that ‘90% of the charges against R. Kelly is bulls*it.’
The Cook County, IL State’s Attorney, Kim Foxx, has raised all kinds of red flags as well, regarding her ethical practices, after being accused of pulling some shady strings behind the scenes of Empire star, Jussie Smollett’s, mysteriously dropped 16-count felony case.
Meanwhile, R. Kelly’s got even more issues to deal with:
Via The Blast- R. Kelly pleaded not guilty earlier this month to 11 new sex abuse-related felonies. The additional charges against Kelly with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual assault by force, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against a victim between the ages of 13 to 16.
