Darrell Johnson, Kelly’s Crisis Manager, says that Kelly’s requirement to pay for her education is predicated on him receiving billing statements and proof of expenses. He claims that he never received anything.
Kelly said he was under the impression Joann chose to drop out of school. Which would explain why he stopped getting bills. Johnson also claims that Drea never provided any documentation or proof that Joann was dismissed from school either.
Sources close to Joann say that she wants to return to college. When she does, she intends to seek financial support from her father. Whether she gets it or not all depends on if he will actually have the money for it.
You may recall, Kelly finally coughed up the back child support he owed Drea this week to avoid jail again. It’s not over yet though! He was informed he still owes $32k in interest. Currently he owes around $20k per month to his ex-wife in child support.
Remember Kelly and his daughter already have a rocky relationship especially after all the new sex allegations. Back in January Joann referred to him as a “monster” after “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries released on Lifetime. She said they’ve been estranged for years.
Unfortunately the whole ordeal is messing with her mental. The constant reminders of “how terrible my father is” are damaging to her. Instead she rather focus on herself.
