It’s Up In The Air…
It was also reported that days before her trial, Attorney Agu sent a written request to the judge presiding over her client, Faith Rodgers,’ case against R. Kelly. Her letter asked that the preliminary hearing -which was set for Tuesday, March 19th- be ‘adjourned.’
But now that Agu has been convicted, it’s uncertain what will happen with Rodgers’ case against R. Kelly, in which they listed ‘nine causes of action’ against him: ‘gender-based violence, sexual battery, civil battery, gross negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, fraud, false imprisonment and nuisance.’
R. Kelly’s attorney stated this in response to the allegations:
“Mr. Kelly has done nothing. That’s why no one has called the police. That’s why there’s no evidence of him doing anything wrong.”
Agu filed the lawsuit against R. Kelly on Faith Rodgers’ behalf, in 2017. What a difference 2 years makes, right? Not in a million years would any of them probably have imagined this would happen at the last minute. R. Kelly bett’ not ‘put on his dancing shoes and step in the name of love’ just yet though. He still has 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges to face in Chicago. Stay tuned.
