R. Kelly Apologizes After Unknowingly Making Fun Of Autistic Fan On Camera

The Pied Piper of R&B is under fire once again after TMZ released video of a sing-along R. Kelly had with a fan who he thought was under the influence. And now the family has reportedly met with a lawyer and plans to sue him. Here’s is the video in question and you can check out what Kellz is now saying about it below…

Kellz took to social media early Wednesday morning to tell his side of the story. He said that he meant no harm. R. Kelly and his friends were “tipsy” and they were all just having some fun.

“Okay. Now people want to say I’m making fun of people with autism,” R.Kelly said in a video. “Totally not true. I was coming from a club the other night and, um, I was tipsy and everybody else was tipsy. It was about 4, well, 2 o’clock in the morning. That’s what time the club closes.”

R. Kelly explained that when he was approached by fan Lenny Felix who is autistic, he was welcoming. He encouraged Felix to sing “I Believe I Can Fly” and then chimed in changing the lyrics. His entourage then burst into laughter.

“I believe that you’re high, I believe that you’re touching the sky,” R. Kelly sang. “Smoking on that Percocet, Nigga where you goin’, tell me what’s next.”

R. Kelly said in his video that Felix didn’t appear to be autistic at all and apologized if he is.

“He appeared drunk to me,” he continued. “And he was singing my songs, you know, security had to get him up off me a couple of times ’cause he was coming a little too close. But it was all good. I welcomed the guy, joked with him like I do everybody.”

“I don’t tell God about my problems, I tell my problems about my God,” he said. “I love my fans. I thank ya’ll for supporting Kellz. Continue to if you want to. To all of the haters, I love you because you inspire me.”

Was Kellz wrong? According to the fan’s family, Lenny Felix said in response to what happened that, “I don’t want him to think I’m dumb. Do you think he was making fun of me?” Go check out the video for yourself and let us know what you think.
