It was just in 2016, that Melvin Edmonds announced that he was rejoining After 7 for their first album release in 20 years. At that time, he was ready to perform wit them sporadicaly, as he also contiued working on his solo project.

Melvin appeared to be in a much happier space then as well, which was a beautiful thing to witness. Here’s what he previously said about his 2016 comeback:
“I am happily married with a family and that’s one of the greatest gifts. So if something good presents itself and it feels right and seems purposeful then I will take a look at it. But I’m good in this space.” -via SU
His passing comes as a shock to most of us After 7 fans. Our hearts and condolences go out to his brothers, his son, and the rest of his family at this time. Rest in power Melvin Edmonds.
