In April 2007, YouTube displayed the Apollonia film “Happy B.Day Mr. Christian.” In this film, Brenda features her solo song “Blue Limousine” from the Apollonia 6 album. She runs through cars and sings outside a gas station about her missed lover who treated her unkindly and featured Susan and Apollonia in black leather working on cars.

Brenda released several recent music videos on YouTube; it took her a long time to recover from the death of her brother and mother in order to be able to make music again. A couple of years ago, she released “Guiltier” and “Jemmima”, Guiltier is a song about how it feels like to know your loved one is doing the wrong things behind your back.

She mentioned that she was going to do some spot work in the 80s. “Prince and I had planned on working on a solo record, a project away from what I was doing with Apollonia 6, but it never seemed to get off the ground. There was so much going on at that time: The Family (album) coming out; Prince working on more film projects; Apollonia resuming her acting career. With all the changes going on, I started looking in different directions to do a solo project on my own (beautiful nights)”.

So now we know, she’s still doing music. Could there be a reunion? Just in case there’s not, we’ll always have classics like this…
