In a prior interview, “I Wanna Know” singer, Joe, revealed that he and R. Kelly had some issues. The problem started during the height of Joe’s career and he said his then-Jive Records label mate, R. Kelly, allegedly tried to do him dirty. During his interview with Vlad TV, Joe went into detail about the plan Kellz was allegedly trying to pull off behind his back, which he says he found out from some very credible sources in the music industry…
Joe revealed, to Vlad TV, that some years ago several P.D.s (radio program directors), were hittin’ him up, letting him know that R. Kelly told them if they did not stop playing Joe’s records, he wouldn’t perform at anymore of their radio station events. This was apparently during R. Kelly’s pre-incarcerated days and multiple current sex assault charges, when the “Bump N’ Grind” crooner was at the top of his career and had major clout in the industry. The thing that Joe says R. Kelly didn’t know, was that the P.D.s Kellz allegedly told those things to, were actually friends of Joe.
The mainstream music business is a competitive sport and at times a very cut throat, ‘dog eat dog’ type of industry. So although we don’t know if R. Kelly actually did or did not try to block Joe’s career, it isn’t unheard of in the music game…unfortunately that’s just the way it is sometimes.
Joe later talked with the “Breakfast Club” (a few years ago), and when asked about where he and R. Kelly stand today, Joe said things were all good between them…they’d moved on from it. Joe did add that he never approached R. Kelly about the situation though.
