Sister Files Legal Docs To Divide Prince’s Estate, Prince Had No Will

prince-sister-Tyka-Nelson-3Wow, we couldn’t imagine that Prince would leave his business affairs out of order. In life he was very much a business man, and this is not the Prince that we know, so our eyebrows are raised. It is being reported that Tyka, Prince’s sister Tyka has filed legal docs to open a probate case … and she says as far as she can tell he left no will. Six documents were filed in Carver County probate court Tuesday morning pertaining to the estate of Prince.

Probate (court) documents were filed in Minnesota, in which Tyka asks the judge to appoint a “special administrator.” Under Minnesota law, a special administrator is someone who is appointed when there is no executor named in a will.

“I do not know of the existence of a will and have no reason to believe that the decedent executed testamentary documents in any form.”

Tyka goes on to list the people who are potential beneficiaries in the documents filed. They are John, Norrine, Sharon, Alfred and Omarr, all of whom are half brothers and sisters. They are all living siblings of Prince. But Tyka never even mentions Duane, reportedly Prince’s half brother, who is also deceased.

Tyka has entrusted Bremer Trust, National Association, to serve as the official administrator of Prince’s estate, because they have provided financial services to Prince for years, and they are well versed in his affairs and best suited to protect his assets.
