ILOSM family, can y’all believe it’s already been 12 years since the legendary R&B crooner, Gerald Levert has departed this earth? Saturday, November 10, 2018 marks the 12th anniversary of his death and as we celebrate his life and legacy, we also want to share our deepest condolences with his loved ones and children.
Gerald’s 28 year old daughter, Carlysia Levert, is currently on her “Embracing Your Journey,” 50 state healing journey, after years of pain. In fact, ILOSM has learned just how much of a bittersweet moment Gerald’s 12th anniversary of transition is for his eldest daughter. In an I LOVE OLD SCHOOL MUSIC exclusive, Carlysia detailed for the first time ever, exactly what happened the day her father died, as well as what happened days prior to his passing. She was always extremely close to her dad and considers herself a “Daddy’s girl” to the fullest. So as y’all can imagine, his death was absolutely the most heartbreaking tragedy of her life. Carlysia was 16 years old when Gerald Levert died and she told us ‘I remember it like it was yesterday.’ What we also learned is that Carlysia had several other heartbreaks in her life as well.
