ILOSM family, here’s an interesting Black History fact about late jazz icon, Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong. Though millions loved the “Wonderful World” hitmaker, there were millions of African Americans who did not love his perceived ‘sell-out, Uncle Tom’ ways outside of music. Apparently, Satchmo even became tired of being a ‘happy Black man with the plastered smile.’ He hit a breaking point and UNLEASHED on then president, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and the governor of Arkansas after a racist incident against finally pissed him off to the point of no return.
