Things are not lookin’ good for Lauryn Hill. For those who don’t know, the singer recently announced The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour. While many fans immediately expressed apprehension due to the last tour fiasco, they were still excited about the idea of seeing the “Ex-Factor” singer hit the stage again. The iconic album included many of Lauryn’s biggest hits including, “Doo Wop (That Thing)” “Everything Is Everything, ” and “Nothing Really Matters. But in just a short period of time, all of the excitement has been replaced with more apprehension that will likely have an impact on ticket sales. Fans’ fears have been realized because, already, there are issues with the tour.
‘Unforeseen Issues’:
While it’s probably good that Lauryn Hill is giving fans the heads up instead of simply arriving hours late as she’s done in the past, the latest announcements still have people givin’ her the side eye. 07-25 Charlotte, NC – Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre
07-26 Raleigh, NC – Red Hat Amphitheater
07-29 St. Petersburg, FL – Al Lang Stadium
08-02 Jacksonville, FL – Daily’s Place
08-08 Holmdel, NJ – PNC Bank Arts Center
08-16 Virginia Beach, VA – Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater
08-17 Bristow, VA – Jiffy Lube Live
In addition to the cancellations, reports have also broken down the changes with venues and dates. According to Billboard, the Nashville, TN concert date has been rescheduled for October 11 while the concert date for Atlanta, GA has been rescheduled for 13 and the show in Miami is now set for October 15.
The former Fugees singer and Live Nation have also released an official statement about the cancellations citing “unforeseen production issues.” “Due to unforeseen production issues, a select number of dates on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour have been postponed or canceled,” Live Nation said in a statement. “For postponed shows, tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.”
However, specific reasons for the cancellations have yet to be revealed. Regardless of what the reasons are, fans aren’t here for the excuses. So you can just imagine what type of reactions the singer is gettin’ on social media.

The latest news follows the last time Lauryn Hill hit the stage. For those who missed all that drama, fans were left waiting hours for Lauryn to arrive at the venue. Then to make matters worse, being excessively late has become a norm for the singer. There have been times where its taken Lauryn until nearly 10:00 pm to arrive for a 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm show. It should be interesting to see how this tour turns out.
