We have very heartbreaking news to share today I Love Old School Music family. Malikah Shabazz, daughter of the iconic late Nation Of Islam leader, Malcolm X, has passed away. She was only 56 years young. It’s been reported that Malikah was found deceased in her New York home. Details are below.
Details Of Malikah Shabazz’s Death
Via CNN: Malikah Shabazz, died Monday, the New York Police Department told CNN. … Shabazz, 56, was found unconscious by her daughter at her home in Brooklyn, according to the NYPD.
Police said the death appeared to be due to natural causes.
The “cause of death is pending the final results of additional testing, but the death does not appear to be suspicious following initial review,” a spokesperson for New York City’s chief medical examiner’s office, Julie Bolcer, said.
According to authorities, Malikah’s daughter called 911 at approximately 4:30p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021.
Malikah and her twin sister, Malaak Shabazz, are the youngest of Malcolm X’s and the late Betty Shabazz’s six children. Their mother was two months pregnant with them when their father was fatally gunned down in February 1965.
Martin Luther King’s Daughter Honors Malikah Shabazz
Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter, Bernice King, took to Twitter to pay homage to Malikah Shabazz, upon hearing news of her passing. In her post she wrote:

New York’s Mayor, Bill de Blasio Pays Homage To Malikah Shabazz
New York mayor, Bill de Blasio, also shared his thoughts on Malikah’s passing via CNN:
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio also offered his condolences Tuesday for the death of Shabazz. “This family has been through hell over and over again. … I’m so sorry for (what) they’re going through right now,” de Blasio said.
