When guest hosting The Real talk show in March (2017), Shekinah broke down about several things that had transpired in her life at that time: she’d just had surgery, but revealed that she was betrayed by her hairstylist and her ex-boyfriend at that time. She said her hairstylist turned on her over a Floyd Mayweather party; and her ex-boyfriend had just betrayed her by posting a viral video of her on social media allegedly very high off of Percocet pills.

Shekinah stressed how much she was trying to evolve into a better human being and how she’s always helping her friends out financially or otherwise. But it was very clear to see that she was deeply hurt by the betrayal and also the backlash fans of The Real had given her online for being ‘too ghetto’ to host a daytime talk show.

Shekinah is a human being with flaws and good traits, just like the rest of us. Her heart seems genuine and it’s painful to watch this young lady have to go through things like this. Our prayers are with her right now and we truly hope that at this moment she has gotten away from whomever has beaten her and is in a safe place healing. Her physical wounds will heal soon, but her psychological and emotional wounds- as a result of being violated like that- will probably take some time.
