Why Suge’s Fiancee’s About To Serve Time
On Friday, February 2, 2018, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Douglas Sortino sentenced Ms. Kelly to three years in prison for violating probation she was already on from a prior legal issue with Suge.
Kelly’s probation orders were to never contact Suge under any circumstances. As of 2016, the only contact Suge can have are with his attorneys. However, in court on Friday, it was revealed that Kelly attempted to make contact with him, to arrange interviews with producers for a Death Row Records documentary, that is currently in the works with BET.
Judge Sortino told Kelly that her actions were betrayal of the leniency he’d given her during her previous probation sentencing. According to New York Daily News, Sortino told Kelly, “To me it’s pretty blatant, and frankly, jaw-dropping,” regarding her latest violation of disobeying his court orders.
In October 2017, Kelly was previously placed on probation, by Sortino, after being accused of selling video footage associated with Knight’s murder trial to TMZ for $55K. The footage was not supposed to be shared with the press. Kelly was then ordered to pay $55K in restitution. According to MailOnline, ‘Kelly, who had just taken a plea deal, was also found to have indirectly reached out to Knight via a private investigator, which also was in violation of her October probation.’

Daily Mail reported that Ms. Kelly spoke out after being sentenced to 3 years and she also revealed the hardships her and Suge’s son is now faced with, as a result of their actions:
Kelly will also five years probation in addition to 100 hours of community service. Kelly called the sentence ‘humbling’ and ‘humiliating’ on Friday while reading from a letter in court. She added that her eight-year-old son would have no one to look after him with both Kelly and Knight in jail. Kelly added that her father died of cancer in December.
Suge Knight has been locked up since 2015 for a 2014 murder. He plead not guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court for murder and attempted murder charges, after running over two men, killing one of them at a Compton, Cali. burger spot.
Why Suge’s Attorney’s Were Arrested
Last week, Suge’s current attorney, Thaddeus Culpepper, as well as his previous attorney, Matthew Fletcher, were arrested and released, after they’d spent one night in jail. They haven’t yet been officially charged with a crime. Here’s why:
Via ThePhillyTrib: Prosecutors filed papers in court last year that said Culpepper had contacted a sheriff’s department informant and agreed to pay him to testify that he was present at the time of the crime and witnessed events that would help Knight’s case. Those same court papers accused Fletcher and Knight last year of tampering with witnesses. Transcripts of recorded conversations suggested they discussed fabricating testimony and Knight tried to pay off witnesses with his lawyer’s help.
Both attorneys denied all charges against them. Speaking outside the courthouse, Atty. Culpepper said “What they were charging me with is impossible. I’m charged with defending my client as to this murder and they’re charging me with accessory to murder after the fact based on a false confidential informant sham kind of program.”
Geesh! Suge’s legal cases are turning into a real life movie script.
