If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Bobby Brown in recent years, it’s that his life has been hit with multiple tragedies in a rather short amount of time. One such tragedy was covered in a scene from his BET biopic, Bobby Brown Story,” in which he lost his beloved mother, Carole Brown; and how Bobby’s then ex-wife, Whitney Houston, delivered a touching song tribute to Mrs. Carole. So did Bobby’s New Edition brothers.

During the funeral scene, Whitney was portrayed as stating Mrs. Carole would be her mother-in-law ‘forever’ … and she didn’t care that Bobby’s wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, was sitting right there in front as she spoke. That was the Whitney the we all know and love — she kept it real at ALL times, even in the midst of her ‘forever mom-in-law’s’ funeral.

Needless to say…at the time of Bobby’s biopic, Twitter was on fire following that heart-wrenching funeral scene in the movie. But now, the actual footage of both Whitney & New Edition singing at Mrs. Carole’s REAL funeral has surfaced. Whitney sang “Precious Lord,” and she later joined Johnny Gill (accompanied by Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Ralph, and Mike) for a rendition of “Never Would Have Made It.”

It was very sad — but beautiful to witness at the same time — as Whitney sang her heart out to offer comfort for the man she was once in love with for 14+ years, and also as New Edition uplifted Bobby B. and family at the home-going.

Mrs. Carole Brown would have been proud of her ‘forever’ daughter-in-law and her sons’ childhood friends, N.E., who she’d known ever since they were youngins running around Boston. Take a look at these rarely seen tributes:

Bobby Mourned Back-To-Back Personal Deaths

It’s so heartbreaking to see that footage of Whitney singing at Mama Carole’s funeral, only for Whitney to pass away, just over one year later.

As we previously reported, Bobby’s dad, mom, and ex-wife, Whitney Houston, died all within a 2-year span. Just three years later, so did his beloved daughter, Bobby Kristina Brown, followed by his son (from a prior relationship), Bobby Brown Jr., in 2020.

Bobby’s mother, Carole Brown, died on January 20, 2011. Just one year later, Bobby’s dad, Herbert “Pops” Brown, died on December 10, 2011. Bobby’s mother’s death actually reunited him with Whitney (from a peaceful, friendship standpoint), which led to Whitney singing at his mom’s funeral.

Bobby Brown with his father, Herbert Brown

Sadly, only one month after Bobby’s Dad passed away, our beloved Whitney passed away on February 11, 2012, sending Bobby into a downward spiral that was clouded in extreme grief, as he tried to cope with what was happening. After Whitney’s death, Bobby had a relapse with alcohol addiction in August of 2012, after successfully managing to stay sober for 7 years prior to that. His 2012 relapse caused him to get a DUI, which landed him in rehab for 18 months.

Bobby Brown with daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, whom he shares with Whitney Houston

Then came the ultimate, most unnatural kind of pain that NO parent should ever have to bare- the death of his and Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina on July 26, 2015. Sadly, by February 2016, Bobby Brown was reportedly back in the same position he was in about four years prior to– allegedly trying to self medicate the grief away. That caused him to enter into a rehab facility for an unknown substance abuse, allegedly.

Bobby Brown (R) with his son, Bobby Brown Jr. (L)

As if losing one child wasn’t already devastating enough…2020 dealt another severe blow to Bobby’s and his loved ones, with the death of his son (from a prior relationship), Bobby Brown Jr. As you all know, Bobby Jr. died of an accidental drug overdose at age 28, on November 18, 2020. It’s unclear if Bobby Sr. fell into a relapse following his son’s death, but hopefully, he did not.

Although Bobby has been fighting his heart out to keep pushing forward in life with his other children and also within his career, there is only so much heartache one person can take; and we all have different ways of dealing with it. We truly wish Bobby Brown well and give him the utmost respect for sharing his ups, downs, fails, and heartaches with the world. Hopefully his story will help someone else from making the same mistakes.

Scenes from “Rump Shaker” video: Teddy Riley and video model

Well, well, well, we learn something new ’round these parts everyday and today is most definitely one of those days. So, most of us Old Schoolers remember Teddy Riley’s group, Wreckx N’ Effect, right? Thought so, and that also means that you remember their classic video for their 1992 hit song, “Rump Shaker.” The music video was shot on a beach somewhere and it was like a wild party, with fine ladies in swimsuits, that made you feel like you were watching a scene fresh outta Atlanta’s Freaknick spring break back in the day.

There were a few video models who stood out in that video more than others, and one of them just so happens to now be the wife of a multiplatinum selling R&B legend. She’s the young lady who was fake-playing the saxophone intro in the video and out of all the women, she had the biggest spotlight shined on her because she had the scene all to herself. The other ladies had to share their camera time.

The reason this is a tad bit surprising is because when you think of her today, she just seems like the wholesome mother type- still beautiful- but just more soccer mom, instead of sex-symbol-bikini-clad-chick-at-the-party type. So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, see whose wife is the saxophone “Rump Shaker” below…

The “Rump Shaker” Video Model Is The Wife Of…

Bam! Bobby Brown’s wife, Alicia Etheredge, is the ‘rump shaker!’ Who would’ve thought it?!!

Although Alicia’s still a nice looking woman, her video model days are long behind her, because instead she chose to work behind the scenes of the music industry and has done so for many years now. In fact, there are several fun facts many may not know about the woman Bobby B. married after his divorce from the beloved Whitney Houston. See them below…

1. Bobby & Alicia Met Long Before He Married Whitney Houston:

Although Bobby and Alicia didn’t marry until 2012 and had three kids together later in life, they met a long time ago See what Bobby revealed…

Via Access Hollywood: “We met many years ago, many years ago,” Bobby explained. “I believe I was about 18, and we were at a dance place, where people just go and work out their new moves … I met her there, and we became friends, we all hung out. Then I ended up getting married, and after me getting divorced, for some strange reason, I saw her again and sparks flew.”

2. Alicia is An Identical Twin

3. Alicia Is Bobby’s Manager & Worked With Many Other Top Celebs:

Alicia became Bobby’s manager in 2008, the following year after he and Whitney divorced. According to People, Alicia admitted that her role as manager/wife to Bobby has it’s downside at times: “Yes, there is always conflict at times that arises … and I think it’s just when the two overlap.” But overall she wouldn’t change a thing about it.
Bobby also stated that “She’s worked with Macy Gray and Magic Johnson and people like that…she’s just a brilliant lady.”

4. Bobby Says Alicia Helped Get His Passion Back:

Via People: Bobby credits a big part of his life transformation to Alicia, whom he told People in 2011 helped him get back “his passion back for music, for loving myself. I’m a better person, so I can be a better partner and father,” he said, adding, “She makes me want to live.”

Whitney Houston with then-husband, Bobby Brown

The beloved Whitney Houston passed away from an overdose on February 12, 2012. Ever since then, there have been several confirmations – from those close to her – that she had a long battle with drugs. We’ve seen her ex-hubby, Bobby Brown, painfully discuss it publicly. We watched in sadness as Whitney’s brother, Michael Houston, tearfully confessed to their mother, Cissy Houston, (during an Oprah Winfrey interview) that it was not Bobby who introduced Whitney to drugs, it was HE who did so, long before she’d met Bobby.

In more recent years, Whitney’s former bodyguard — who also inspired her film, The Bodyguard –– Welshman David Roberts,  is spoke out about what he tried to warn the Houston family about, and why he ultimately got fired. He was Whitney’s bodyguard for seven and a half years.

In an interview with Radio Times, Roberts explained the incident he was fired for, after trying to save Whitney from her reported drug addiction. He also believes that he felt Bobby was too much of an enabler; and was jealous of Whitney’s career. He also made bold claims said about the death of their beloved daughter, Bobbi Kristina. See what else Roberts revealed below…

Whitney’s former Bodyguard, who inspired her 1992 film, “The Bodyguard,” Welshman David Roberts

Roberts On Whitney’s Fatal Overdose

Welshman David Roberts: “There were a lot of people who were aware of the inevitable outcome of what would happen if they didn’t take action and, as we know, they took no action. And the result was fatal.”

Bodyguard Claims Bobby B. Was A “Burden”

W.D. Roberts: “We brought this man [Brown] out on tour and it became an additional burden. Every two days there was a crate of Heineken and a bottle of Crown Royal, and every third day we were ill. […] If that coincided with a show, too bad, the show didn’t go on. This man could not come up to her level so she went down to his.”

Whitney’s Bodyguard Reveals Incident That He Ultimately Got Him Fired

Roberts also stated that he never actually saw Whitney do drugs, but that he would just see the after-affects of them in her behavioral changes…

W.D. Roberts: “In seven and a half years, I never ever saw Ms. Houston take any drug other than bottle of Heineken or a Newport cigarette.”

During a performance for the niece of the Sultan of Brunei, Roberts says that’s when he really became aware of how bad the addiction was:

“She [Whitney] went on stage and couldn’t sing a word, sing a note. Not one. She talked her way through an hour and a half of total and utter embarrassment,” said Roberts.

Roberts then revealed that is when he took action. Under the advise of Whitney’s doctors, he filed his report to the people in charge of her career, to make them aware of how badly her addiction had become so they could get her help. However, Roberts claims that soon afterwards, he was contacted by Whitney’s lawyers and told his services were no longer needed.

Bodyguard’s Allegations About Bobby Regarding Daughter’s Death

As far as the death of Bobby’s and Whitney’s beloved daughter, Bobbi Kristina, at age 22, Welshman D. Roberts went hard at Bobby B. for it.

Whitney Houston with daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown

W.D. Roberts: “That girl [Bobby Kristina] had no chance from the start. She was born into chaos. Her father was instrumental in her mother’s downfall. … I watched Bobbi Kristina as a little girl, running around the corridors of hotels we were staying in, surrounded by the degenerates who were supposed to be looking after her, and I worried for her future.”

“When I heard what had happened to Bobbi Kristina, I wasn’t surprised, but I was angry. […] Everything good Bobby Brown’s ever had in his life, he’s destroyed – his career, Whitney, and now Bobbi Kristina. She’s another victim of his poisonous personality.”

Geesh! This is sad no matter how we look at it. But should Bobby Brown really take most (or all) of the blame? Or should the blame be equally distributed among himself and all other contributing parties? Especially since we now know that it was not Bobby who actually introduced Whitney to drugs?

Some may say ‘yes’; some would say ‘no,’ both Whitney and Bobby are equally to blame…as well as Bobby’s and Whitney’s parents, and their parents, etc., regarding the generational dysfunction that has presented itself in various ways within both the Brown and Houston families. There’s no judgement here though, because MOST of us regular folks have forms of dysfunction within our own families. The only difference is that Bobby’s and Whitney’s was put on front street due to their celebrity status.

Here’s an Old School fun fact, about Bobby Brown and Suge Knight, that most fans have never known. It isn’t the fact that pre-Death Row era, Suge was Bobby’s bodyguard, during his “My Prerogative” days. Although we do recognize that may be news to some- and if so, you’re welcome family. What we’re here to discuss today though, is what was new news to some of us, here at I Love Old School Music, and that’s the fact that Bobby once had a hit placed on him, before Suge stepped up to save the day.

The details have now been confirmed by a former cop who worked for Suge Knight. One who’s also currently facing up to 3 years behind bars after pleading guilty for an unrelated charge, but that’s a whole ‘notha story. For now, let us share what the ex-cop said about the time Bobby had crazy danger looming over his life, during height of his career.

In a new interview with Vlad TV, ex-LAPD officer, Reggie White Jr., broke down the story of how Bobby’s past issue sparked a murder hit against him, and how Suge resolved the situation.

Ex-Cop Claims It All Started Over Bobby’s ‘Drug Debt’…
During Reggie White Jr.’s  interview (see video below), Vlad pointed out that when Suge Knight was working as Bobby Brown’s bodyguard in the late 1980’s, some gangstas put a hit out on the New edition member regarding a non-payment of his then hefty cocaine purchase. Apparently, Bobby did not keep up with his bill and the drug dealer he purchased it from was ready to take the situation to the streets by placing a bounty on Bobby’s head. When asked about who put the hit out on Bobby at that time,  Reggie Jr. stated:

“Correct…some dudes from L.A. … But Bobby was on that- snorting that stuff- and he owed some drug money, some street money to somebody and Suge went and talked to the dudes and it (the ordered hit on Bobby) went away.”

Ex-Cop, Reggie White Jr., Believes Promotor, Al Haymon, Helped Bobby Escape Hit Too…

Reggie Jr. also confirmed that the hit was placed on Bobby while he was touring on an the infamous tour that also featured  Al B. Sure. He said the tour’s legendary promotor, Al Haymon, likely collaborated with Suge, to help get Bobby’s situation resolve and continue a successful tour run:

“Knowing Suge and Al Hayman, they may have even gave them some money. It wasn’t like, he called and apologized, LOL…you know. Everybody got gangstas! And if you in the game like that, you got some hitters with you. That’s how the story goes.”

Disrespect Weighed More Than Bobby’s ‘Drug Debt’…
When asked why someone of Bobby’s stature (at that time) wouldn’t pay back $10K-50K cocaine bill at most (which was chump change to Bobby back then), Reggie Jr. suggested that it may not have been that Bobby didn’t wanna pay it at all, but that he didn’t pay it on time. Thus, leading to the dealer feeling “disrespected” and wanting to teach him a lesson:

“Sometimes people don’t want your money, it’s about the respect. Sometimes ‘You done dissed me enough, to where I gotta do this to you’,” said Reggie White Jr.

Reggie Jr. then explained that Suge Knight was considered their “problem solver” and referred to the imprisoned Death Row CEO as “our modern day Ray Donovan.”

Not sure about Suge being everybody’s “problem solver,” but luckily for Bobby B., Suge sure did solve a helluva MAJOR problem that day!

Bobby Brown (L); Phaedra Parks (R)

Before Phaedra Parks was a housewife on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she was counsel to Bobby Brown when he was filming the reality show, Being Bobby Brown.

Blinded By Fame:

Being Bobby Brown is not easy, as the multi-talented singer has had his share of heartache and pain. Brown became famous at a young age and acquired a lot of wealth. Being wealthy, Brown had access to lots of drugs and women. Through Brown’s career, he’s had a lot of children, a lot of drama, and a lot of it was caught on tape. During a difficult time in his life when Brown faced jail time, former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Phaedra Parks, represented him as his attorney. Just as Bobby Brown gained notoriety from his music, he began to be known for being in and out of jail as the media seemed to capture footage of him in court.

Phaedra Parks has often been criticized for not winning cases. Many people have commented about Parks as an attorney by describing her as mediocre. Brown shared how he felt about Parks in his book, Every Little Step.

Bobby shared how Phaedra seemed to be more concerned with the attention she was receiving as his lawyer, instead of defending him:

“My lawyer at the time was a black woman named Phaedra Parks, who went on to become a reality television star on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Her later television stardom didn’t surprise me because she always seemed like she was craving attention and publicity. Every time I stepped into the courtroom when she was my lawyer, there would always be a host of television cameras. It was as if she had her own traveling media contingent. I even complained to her about it, telling her I didn’t like having the press there everytime I approached the courthouse. But it didn’t seem to deter her.”

Throwback photo of Bobby Brown and with his attorney, Phaedra Parks, in court

“I Usually Wound Up Going To Jail”

Bobby continued by saying:

” I won’t cast aspersions on her lawyering skills, but I will say that when she was my lawyer, I usually wound up going to jail. I haven’t had much luck with my legal representation over the years.”

Maybe Bobby B. felt like Phaedra Parks wasn’t there for him as his attorney…however, she seemed to be there for him as a friend. Phaedra has always spoken highly about Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston. In an interview with OK! magazine, Parks gave Bobby and Whitney credit for her notoriety as people often referred to her as the ” Bobby and Whitney lawyer”:

“I always loved Whitney, I’ll always credit her and Bobby for a very important part of my career and for my notoriety. Because a lot of the time when people hear Phaedra Parks, the first thing they say is Bobby and Whitney, that’s the Bobby and Whitney attorney, Parks shared.”

Bobby Brown and his then attorney, Phaedra Parks

At the time of Whitney Houston’s death, Phaedra revealed that Whitney actually retained her as Bobby’s lawyer because she heard that Phaedra was the best attorney in Atlanta. After their first meeting at the Ritz Carlton, they talked for hours and eventually, Parks became Bobby’s lawyer. Phaedra went on to work with the couple for 7 years. While they didn’t always agree, Phaedra maintained that they loved each other:

“She said to meet her at the Ritz Carlton. I met her and we spoke for probably 3 or 4 hours and later I would meet Bobby, she hired me and 7 years later… I worked with them throughout the divorce and everything. We didn’t always see eye to eye on things but she was very good to me. Her family has been very good to me. His family has been very good to me. I consider them very good friends and I’ve seen them at their best and I’ve seen them at their worst but I just love her, I love Bobbi Kiristina.”

Every Little Step was published in June 2016 and resurfaced amid the bubbling hype surrounding Bobby’s 2018 BET biopic. With all the years that he worked with Parks, it’s safe to say that she could’ve possibly been featured in the movie…but after hearing what Bobby B. had to say about her lawyering skills, she may not have been depicted very well. So, smart move for Phaedra, I suppose.

Carl Payne; Bobby Brown

I LOVE OLD SCOOL MUSIC family, we have a few pretty interesting fun facts to share with you, and it involves three children of two legends we greatly respect. That would be none other than New Edition legend, Bobby Brown, and legendary actor, Carl Payne.

At first glance, one would think they have no real reason for being mentioned in the same sentence, given that Carl was best known for crackin’ us up on Martin and The Cosby Show; while Bobby was best known for cuttin’ up on stage. Well, what you’re about to witness, is the one factor they both have in common- they each have grown sons with the same woman. By the way, their sons are making the ladies break a sweat all on their own with their looks. You’ll see what we mean in a minute.

Bobby’s Relationship With His Eldest Son’s Mom Was Oftentimes Rocky

Bobby Brown was 17 when he had his first born child, Landon, with his ex-girlfriend, Melika. This was the year after he was voted out of New Edition and was just kickin’ off his solo career.

Carl Payne Later Married Her

Carl Payne married the mother of his and Bobby’s sons, Melike Payne, in 1992. Melika filed for divorce after 22 years of marriage in 2014, but the divorce was never finalized and they have since happily reunited. Carl helped raise Landon Brown (who refers to Carl as his “other dad”) ever since Landon was six-years-old.

Meet Bobby Brown’s and Melika Payne’s Son [Carl’s Stepson], Landon Brown

Some years ago, Bobby’sand Melika’s son, Landon Brown, was a slender dude. However, today Landon is 35 years old, with a child of his own. As you can see, dude has been hittin’ the gym on the daily. Needless to say, he gets many lustful comments from females shootin’ their shot at him on social media.

But today, Carl’s and his wife’s son, Malek, has come a long way as well…as seen in the following photo…

Though he’s an adult, it’s unclear how old Malek is now, but like his big bro,’ the thirst is real among the young ladies who have left a few lustful comments underneath his online pics.

Carl and Melika Payne also share another son, Carl Payne III , but he pretty much stays outta the public’s eye.

Mom Of Bobby’s And Carl’s Sons Was Portrayed In “The Bobby Brown Story” Biopic

Many of y’all may recall the scene from The Bobby Brown Story, when Bobby’s baby mama, Melika, showed up on the set of his “Girlfriend” video shoot, telling him their newborn son, Landon, needed money and daddy time. Melika was portrayed by actress, Brittany Level.

Melika’s and Bobby’s Son [Carl’s Step-son] Spoke About Bobbi Kristina’s Boyfriend

After Bobbi Kristina passed away– and prior to her boyfriend, Nick Gordon’s, death — Landon expressed his hurt and anger in an interview with Vlad TV:

“Nick Gordon is a leach he is a tag-along, he is a weak individual that can’t do for himself. … They were just friends from school [and they only got into a relationship] after her Mother passes away, that’s a bit suspicious.”

As you all know, just five years after the passing of Bobby’s and Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, in July 2015…Bobby also lost his son, Bobby Brown Jr. [from a prior relationship], to an accidental drug overdose on November 18, 2020. The N.E. legend has endured so much heartache throughout the years, but we applaud Bobby for still going strong for the sake of his other children and loved ones.

Whitney Houston

After FBI files were released a few years ago about the beloved Whitney Houston; along with surprising claims of her former bodyguard, Kevin Ammons, rumors began swirling about an alleged lesbian relationship between Whitney Houston and her best friend. When Whitney passed away in 2012, details of FBI investigation into an extortion plot against Whitney were made public…and they are jaw-dropping. The highly-redacted FBI files; along with Ammons’s  and author, Ian Helperin’s, claims give insight into the type of stress that the beloved Whitney faced on the daily- a possible love life she had to keep hidden, a bodyguard who told the public her business, extortion attempts, the heavy demands of being a superstar. That’s enough to drive any person over the edge, just sayin.’

Both Whitney’s ex-bodyguard-turned author, Kevin Ammons (author of “Good Girl, Bad Girl), and author, Ian Helperin, claim that Houston was extorted so that details about her alleged lesbian affair with her best friend, Robyn Crawford, wouldn’t surface. According to Helperin’s book, “Whitney Houston & Bobbi Kristina: The Deadly Price of Fame,” on the eve of “The Bodyguard” movie premiere in 1992, a Chicago lawyer tried to extort Whitney for $250,000. The lawyer allegedly told an FBI agent that the details included “knowledge of intimate details regarding Whitney Houston’s romantic relationships and will go public with the information.” But Ammons claims Whitney’s dad then tried to do the unthinkable.

EX-BODYGUARD’S SHOCKING CLAIM ABOUT WHITNEY’S DAD

Kevin Ammons also made claims in his book that Whitney’s father, John Houston, tried to hire him to do harm to Robyn Crawford because he felt that she was causing too many problems for Whitney and their family. According to Helperin, Ammons also told him that John Houston thought Crawford would go public with her alleged relationship with Whitney:

“We’ve got to do something about that motherf-king b—h [Robyn Crawford]. She’s ruining my family and driving everybody nuts. She’s lost her grip on reality. I’ll pay you $6,000 if you put the fear of God in her,” Ammons quoted John Houston as saying.

Ammons says he turned down John’s offer, but was instructed by John to “keep an eye” on her [Robin Crawford].” There’s one other claim that was made.

FBI FILES SHOW SOMEONE DEMANDED A LOT OF $$$ FROM WHITNEY

Below is a redacted portion of the FBI files, which detail the early ’90s extortion attempt on Whitney Houston:

“[Redacted] said [Redacted] told him that [Redacted] has knowledge of intimate details regarding Whitney Houston’s romantic relationships, and will go public with the information unless [Redacted] is paid $250,000. [Redacted] told [Redacted] client will sign a confidentiality agreement if [Redacted] is paid the $250,000.”

The FBI also included in Whitney’s file, an Executed Confidentiality Agreement which possibly means Whitney may have paid the money and the extortion plot was successful.

ROBYN CRAWFORD ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO STOP WEDDING, WHITNEY BOUGHT HER A PORSCHE

Whitney’s ex-bodyguard, Ammons, also claimed Robyn Crawford was furious about Whitney marrying Bobby Brown, claiming Robyn even tried to stop the wedding. According to Ammons, on Whitney and Bobby’s wedding day, Whitney surprised Robyn with a brand new Porsche so that Robyn -her maid of honor – would behave at the wedding.
Overall, we tip our hat to the late, great Whitney Houston, because through the incredible amount of pressures she was faced with she continued to fight through it, holding her head up high. Sometimes even when we fight a good fight, we can still come up short. Whitney proved that she was a warrior, regardless of her struggles. May Whitney and her beloved daughter she shared with Bobby – Bobbi Kristina Brown – continue to rest peacefully.

Bobby Brown (R) with his son, Bobby Brown Jr.

Bobby Brown (52) and his family have been hit with tragedy after tragedy within the past decade or so, as you all know. His latest tragedy was the pain of losing his 28 year old son, Bobby Brown Jr., on November 19, 2020. Prior to now, the cause of Bobby Jr.’s death was unknown, but the L.A. County Medical Examiner’s Office has now made their findings public…and sadly, they’re equally as heartbreaking to say least.

Bobby Jr.’s Cause Of Death

It has just been reported that Bobby Brown Jr. died accidentally, after ingesting a highly toxic combination of drugs and alcohol. Apparently, the mixture was far too poisonous for Bobby Jr.’s system to withstand:

Via TMZ: The L.A. County Medical Examiner’s Office just released its findings — and according to the document, obtained by TMZ, the autopsy and toxicology found a deadly combo of alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl.

The report also says a witness told police Bobby Jr. had downed tequila and snorted half a Percocet and the cocaine. The manner of death is listed as accidental.

Bobby Brown Released Statement On Son’s Passing

Bobby Brown says his son’s sudden passing has ‘devastated’ the family and that their pain is beyond anything he can put into words. Days after Bobby Jr. died, the New Edition star briefly spoke out about his son in a statement to US Weekly, asking fans for prayers at this time:

“Please keep my family in your prayers at this time. Losing my son at this point in our lives has devastated my family. There are no words to explain the pain.” – Bobby Brown

Details Of Bobby Jr.’s Death Were Initially Sketchy

In case you missed the prior news regarding Bobby Jr.’s passing, details of his death initially were scarce and possibly ill-informing. Bobby Jr. was found deceased in his Los Angeles, CA home on November . According to what family members told TMZ in November, Bobby Jr. had been experiencing flu-like symptoms in the days leading up to his passing. However, a source close to the family claimed he did not have COVID at that time.

Law enforcement stated that from the beginning, they had not suspected foul play was involved, and that there were no drugs found at the home where Bobby Jr. was located.

In need of answers as to what happened to Bobby Jr., Bobby’s family had also agreed to allow law enforcement to investigate the situation, which included the latest toxicology test.

Words cannot express how saddened we are for Bobby Brown, and the immense pain he’s endured after losing two children in a relatively short amount of time, along with several others whom he loved immensely. The heartbreaking losses of his and Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, in 2015; his mother, Carole Brown, in 2011; his father, Herbert Brown, and ex-wife, Whitney, both in 2012; and now his beloved son, Bobby Jr., have caused grief beyond measure for Bobby Brown.

Sending continued condolences and healing energy to Bobby, Kim Ward – the mother of Bobby Jr., and their loved ones at this time.
