If you are a The Real Daytime viewer, you have noticed that Tamera Housley has been absent quite a bit from the show but why?…
Each episode that Tamera misses there’s a fill-in for her seat, today it was The Ellen show co-host Stephen Laurel “tWitch” Boss. At the beginning of each show one of the co-hosts makes it a point to reveal that “Tam-tam is out sick, we hope you feel better Tam-tam” or something in those lines. But how long can she be sick and is she really sick? I for one grew worried for her so I did some digging.
On the February, 26th episode Loni Love gave a run-down on ‘Tamera’s health stating, ” first she got bronchitis, then she didn’t take enough time off- then it turned into the flu, then it ended up into viral phenomena… she does needs to stay at home”.
It is now April 5th, over a month later and Tamera has been off and on episodes since. Maybe Tamera was, in fact, sick before but it appears that excuse has been dragged out and we think we know why.
Tensions Have Flared
An insider at the daytime talk show has revealed to The Dialy Mail tensions have flared among Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai, and Loni Love over the Sister, Sister star’s high-paying salary.
Mowry-Housley, 40, is reported to be raking in the most cash on the show with Loni being the second-best paid, while Adrienne and Jeannie are only being paid a third of the other women’s salaries. But Battle lines were drawn earlier this year when Mowry-Housley and Loni refused to help Adrienne and Jeannie get a raise, leading to threats of a staged walkout, cited said a source close to the show.
Life on set had been going smoothly after producers gave controversial host Tamar Braxton the boot in 2016, but working relationships started to deteriorate in April following the show’s Emmy win. An insider told DailyMail.com: ‘Once they won the Emmy, Jeannie and Adrienne started complaining about how they knew they weren’t being compensated the same as their fellow co-hosts Loni and Tamera.
‘Initially, they wanted both Tamera and Loni to support them in their quest to get better deals on the show, but when both ladies declined that definitely meant that lines were drawn.’ Thereafter Jeannie and Adrienne have even started referring to their co-hosts as ‘The Have and The Have Nots’ – ‘That’s the term they’d use to address the pay discrepancy between them.’
The backstage tension over salaries is reportedly why Tamera and Jeannie had an uncharacteristically heated blow-up on camera in September during a discussion over the sexuality of Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie.
‘That argument had nothing to do with whether two puppets were in a same-sex relationship and had everything to do with the drama going on behind the scenes,’ the source explained.
