One thing about singer/actor, Tyrese Gibson: He is an excellent dad to his two daughters. That’s been displayed in his many social media posts — good and bad — throughout the years. Welp, this time around, Tyrese was clearly out to show his eldest daughter, Shayla Gibson, just how much he thinks the world of her, with the brand new whip he gifted her for her 9th grade graduation. Fans had much to say about it.
In case y’all haven’t heard…Tyrese is in England filming for an upcoming “Fast n’ Furious” movie. One of the downsides is that his filming schedule conflicted with Shayla’s 9th grade graduation, which occurred a few days ago.

To make up for his absence, Tyrese decided copped a six-figure luxury vehicle for his daughter, although she won’t be able to drive it — legally that is — for another two years. Tyrese had the white Rolls Royce sent to his daughter as a surprise on graduation day, along with a video display of he and Shayla throughout the years. In his Instagram post, he wrote:
“I feel horrible as a father that I missed this one of a kind moment but it’s very very clear that my daughter felt all that love that I arranged from London……. Thank you Momma Norma for being there…. Funny that you’re in my country and I’m in yours lol congratulations to our angel SHAYLA [ Princess ] Gibson you did it baby you have made daddy sooooooo proud!!!!!”

The Rolls Royce was also adorned with balloons spelling out the words, ““Congratulations Princess Shayla Dady Loves You.”
After sharing this touching moment on his IG page, fans sounded off about it. Most of them agree that Tyrese is a great father. However, they debated about whether or not the car was too much for a 14-year-old child, and also about if Tyrese’s presence, rather than an exotic vehicle would’ve been more than enough for his daughter at that age.

Check out some of the comments below and let us know what side you’re on in this one, ILOSM fam’:
809ag****: He gave a gift that impressed HIM. A gift that HE wanted her to have. There’s no way a 9th grader would want that, truly appreciate it or can even really use it. This is over the top, unnecessary & designed to impress onlookers 🙄 I bet all she really wanted was a big party with her friends and a shopping spree at her favorite mall
grandma****: @809ag**** so true! He missed it. 14 year olds want a big party and their friends. He could have still bought her a car. Something more reasonable for her age that she can drive in with her friends. This is not a every day car.
ka.cey****: Congrats to your daughter. Although you not there physically, you’re there. You are a great dad and she knows that. Blessings
chinaal****: I love Tyrese! And I see how he has done his best to show love to his daughter! But if this was a regular 9-to-5 man who did not put in leave to be at his daughter’s graduation we all will be up in arms! Am I wrong… is it just me!
imstilldaddys****: Congratulations to this beautiful young lady. @tyrese you are an amazing father. This definitely made me cry. I just see the love you show your daughters it reminds me how my father loved all his daughters. Keep being the father that your girls love and need. ❤️
patient_z****This should be a university grad gift not high school…you’re suppose to graduate high school 🙄
spoonam****: @patient_z**** its not even high school graduation, its her 8th grade graduation!! Its too much in my opinion but the thought & video diplay was beautiful & memorable!!!
1j_mic****: @spoonam**** your opinion doesn’t matter she’s not your daughter
nyc.woman*****: @spoonam**** I’m thinking the type of car is excessive for a 14yr old but in the lifestyles of the rich and kardashians😂 for all those trying to keep up I guess this is the new Range Rover kinda gifts😂😂🤷🏽♀️
vicky_****: You did well, no doubt, she definitely felt the Love!❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
arteckalastnam******: Honestly you could’ve been there , I love what you did for her. But right now especially what’s going on in this world today with our kids ..I feel like you should’ve been there .
prettynur******: One thing she’ll never forget is that you wasn’t there!
Congrats to Tyrese and his ex-wife, Norma Gibson’s daughter, Shayla!
