Tyrese then explained what he witnessed Ali doing when he walked into his home, and it shocked the begeezus outta him:
“I walked IN champs house and I heard HIM…as in Muhammad ALI’s voice loud coming through the speakers…… Then as I got closer into the living room and could finally see Champ… He was sitting there looking at himself on TV…..
I was shocked and loved every second of it…… I stood there I remember smiling and taking in the moment….. The Greatest of ALL TIME was sitting there watching clips of himself in his prime……. I don’t know about YOU..?? But watching Muhammad ALI with Muhammad ALI himself was LIFE CHANGING!!!!!!!
He says he then snapped out of his amazement- of Ali watching himself on television- and turned toward Ali’s caretaker to get a better understanding of what was really going on in that moment. This is when Ali’s genuine spirit shined bright. Ali’s caretaker explained that Ali was just like us, regular folks, because he sometimes had a few down moments. That’s when watching himself on TV helped:
Tyrese- “Of course on the low I asked his care taker is this normal..? She said yes absolutely it’s no different than when you get older and wanna look at younger pictures of yourself, of if you lose inspiration to workout and you look at old pics of yourself to get motivated…. When he [Ali] gets down and starts feeling discouraged his greatest motivation is Allah and himself in his prime…..
Whoa!!! My mind was blown and I was encouraged in such a powerful and intimate way….. So many lessons that came from that little piece of insight!!!! Rest In Peace champion!!! Thank you for changing OUR WORLD!!!! … All love always!!!”
Wow…giving an Old School fist bump and handclap to Tyrese for sharing such a cool memory of the late, great, Muhammad Ali.
