For the past few weeks Tyrese has lived one of his worst nightmares- not being able to talk to, nor see, his 10 year old daughter, Shayla Gibson. If you follow him on social media, then you know just how tight of a bond he and Shayla have.

Recap Of Ex-Wife’s Restraining Order Claims

As we previously reported, their closeness changed when Tyrese’s ex-wife, Norma Gibson, filed a temporary restraining order against Tyrese over their daughter, Shayla. Norma claims that on August 19, 2017, Tyrese allegedly “went into a rage, pushed our daughter to the ground, pinned her face down, put his knees on her back, grabbed her hands with one arm and beat her with the other,” after Shayla disobeyed him. Tyrese adamantly denied those claims and reportedly said he only hit his daughter one time on her backside and that Norma was just bitter because he’s now married to someone else.

New Investigation Launched Against Tyrese

As of Tuesday (10-3-2017), it was announced that a full fledged Dept. of Child & Family Services (DCFS) investigation has been launched against Tyrese. It was also reported that Norma is trying to get full physical and legal custody for their daughter, claiming that she fears Tyrese will eventually take Shayla to Dubai on one of his business trips and never return with her.

Child Services Investigation Common Practice

FYI: It’s common practice for the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) to launch investigations into the parent being accused of wrongdoing. It doesn’t indicate that Tyrese did in fact do wrong by their daughter, but it’s rather a safety precaution by DFCS, to make sure the child is 100% protected and not in harm’s way.

Hope they can get down to the bottom of this soon no matter what the outcome is, as long as it’s in the best interest of Tyrese and Norma’s precious little girl.
