Many of us watched the debacle of a Super Bowl LII Halftime show that Justin Timberlake put on. It was boring as hell and shrouded in controversy. Long before the show even took place, Justin was getting criticism from all directions. There was the whole Prince hologram disaster that the legendary Sheila E. blasted him online over and ultimately shut down.
There was also the Janet Jackson fan backlash Timberlake received after he accepted the Super Bowl’s invite to perform, after years of reportedly being banned due to his and Janet’s “nipplegate” Super Bowl scandal. The reason many of Janet’s fans were doggin’ Justin, is because he did not invite Janet to perform with him, even though she invited him in 2004. Even Janet’s daddy, Joe Jackson was pissed with Timberlake over his non-invite to Janet:
Via Uproxx– “If he’s such a gentleman, he’d make sure Janet is there,” said Joe.
In protest of Justin Timberlake’s perceived Janet diss, millions of fans flocked to Twitter in what became the trending #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay. JJDay was officially held on Super Bowl day, to throw massive shade at Timberlake and his halftime performance.
It was the shadiest form of flattery any celeb’ could have hoped for and now Janet has spoken out about it. Although her Pops previously voiced his disapproval of Justin’s non-invite, the “What Have You Done For Me Lately” singer had never said one negative word about Timberlake in the media. She doesn’t have to though, because her Valentine’s Day message of gratitude to her fans, says it all. In a rare Instagram video message, Janet told her fans this:
“You have no idea how much I love you. … I want to thank you for the support and the love that you’re always showing me. I appreciate you…and I love you so much.”
She then wished everyone a Happy Valentine’s day and then her Old School ways surfaced briefly. Y’all know we, Old Schoolers, aren’t always the sharpest in the pack when it comes to all of the new technology and devices, and apparently neither is Janet (51). When ending her video, she tried to do so smoothly, but instead turned on her camera’s flash, before asking herself “What am I doing?” It was cute to witness and then the video cut.

Gotta love Janet Damita Jo Jackson for always putting a smile on her fans’ faces, much like she did for this guy a few years ago, when she was handing out lap dances like they were going outta style…
We love you Janet “Ms. Jackson if you’re nasty!”
