We’ve all heard of rap beef. Hell, we’ve even heard of R&B beef. But this go ’round, there’s a new beef added to the equation- R&B-rap beef by way of Eric Benét and Jay Z.  The “Spend My Life With You” crooner has just spoken out to make it known that he will ‘spend his life’ defending his wife…especially against Jay Z and his recent diss track…or more like his shady track.

In case y’all haven’t heard all the hype circulating around these social media streets, Jay Z has just released his 13th studio album, titled 4:44. The interesting thing about is that it is only available to Sprint users and Tidal subscribers. But that’s nothing in comparison to why everybody’s talking about Jay Z’s new album right about now. You see, his title single, “Kill Jay Z,” has just opened up a few can of worms for Jay.

Jay Z rapped about everything from Kanye West, to his wife, Beyonce’…and that’s where he threw Eric Benét up into the mix.  Before we go jumping to conclusions, no Benét didn’t try to get with Bey,’ or anything like that. Jay Z did, however, name drop Benét in his song as reference of what not to do when married to- what Jay referred to as- one of the “baddest” women in the world (referring to Benét ex-wife, Halle Berry). That reference, in essence, can also be viewed as a lil’ indirect shade to Eric’s current wife as well…as if she’s just someone Eric had to ‘settle for’ after Halle. Jay also confessed, on the song, that he almost made an ‘Eric Benét mistake’ in his own marriage to Beyonce.’.

“You almost went Eric Benét/Let the baddest girl in the world get away/I don’t even know what else to say/Nigga, never go Eric Benét/I don’t even know what you woulda done/In the future, other niggas playin’ football with your son.”

After word got to Eric Benét about Jay Z’s song shade, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to see why the brotha was pissed off. Benét- who admitted to screwing up his marriage to Halle Berry due to his prior sex addiction- is now married to Prince’s ex-wife, Manuela Testolini.

Eric Benét’s Clap Back To Jay Z

So earlier today (June 30, 2017), Benét decided to take to Twitter to honor his wife, clap back at Jay Z, indirectly shade Halle, and stand up in his own defense all at the same dame time, with one simple tweet:

And there ya’ have it IOSM family! Jay Z done stirred up something now…or maybe not. Eric and Jay are both level-headed grown men with much to lose.
