ILOSM fam’ we have a pretty interesting Old School fun fact to share with y’all about the POTUS, whom many of us wish were back in the Oval Office right about now. Fifty-six year old President Obama has maintained a long friendship with his college buddy, who also happens to be a very well known actor.

They both graduated at the top of their class from Harvard Law School and actually met on the basketball court at Harvard. That’s right, Hollywood has a very smart brotha in their ranks and now we can proudly say, so did the White House. Nowadays the White House just has, well…Trump, but I digress. Anyways, see who Obama’s Hollywood college buddy is below…

Obama & Hill Harper- Two Friends w/Admiral Backgrounds

What’chall know about films like, Get On The Bus, Hav Plenty, The Skulls, He Got Game, and TV shows like CSI: NY? If you know anything about them, then you also know actor, Hill Harper.

Hill (52) has been cool with Obama ever since his Harvard days. And remember we mentioned they both graduated at the top of their Harvard graduating class? Well, Hill Harper graduated cum laude in 1992 and as most of us know, his friend, Obama graduated magna cum laude in 1991. Now that deserves an Old School fist bump, hand clap, and standing ovation!

We all know where Obama’s passion for law led him, but many of us may not know Harper’s story. Although Hill went on to earn his Masters of Law degree from John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University after graduating from Harvard Law School, his love of acting called his name. So after his masters degree, he poured his blood, sweat, and tears into making it in the entertainment world. However, dude didn’t stray too far from his other passions and is also an author and political advocate, who has spoken at Obama’s events in the past.

Do They Still Hang Out?

By the way, in case you’re wondering if they remained friends throughout Obama’s presidency, the answer is yep, they sure did. Hill also recently revealed that he and Obama still talk to this day. Here’s what he told New York Post in January 2017 about his current friendship with the 44th POTUS, after he left office:

“…I most recently saw our former POTUS at their final party at the White House a few weeks ago. It was a bittersweet occasion because I couldn’t be more proud of my longtime friend . . . Our country has benefited from his leadership in the past eight years and its sad to see him leave 1600 Penn Ave. But knowing him, this next chapter as an ambassador of the world, much like Nelson Mandela, will be equally impactful,” said Hill Harper.
