Remember OutKast’s classic 2000 hit single, “Ms. Jackson”? Most fans probably don’t know much about the inspiration behind that song, but apparently, the song really was a sincere apology. So, who is the real Ms. Jackson? She’s none other than Erykah Badu’s mother.
A Lyrical Apology:
Of course, everyone probably know the hook to “Ms. Jackson”. Apparently, Andre 3000 wrote the song after his breakup with Erykah Badu. The words he spoke from the heart became a No. 1 hit single.
Ms. Jackson’s Reaction:
Of course, no mother is a fan of any guy that brings tears to her daughter’s eyes. But, Ms. Jackson was able to accept Andre 3000’s creative apology. In fact, Erykah Badu revealed just how much her mother loved the song during the culture podcast Rap Radar.
“How did my mama feel?” Badu asked during the podcast.
