“Baby, she bought herself a ‘Ms. Jackson’ license plate. She had the mug, she had the ink pen, she had the headband, everything. That’s who loved it.”
Although Erykah’s mom and OutKast fans love the ever-popular song, she admitted it really wasn’t one of her favorites when it was released. After the breakup, the song was bittersweet. “It hit kind of a sore spot,” Badu recalled. “I didn’t wanna hear that, especially when I heard Big Boi’s verse. Light At the End of the Tunnel:
Despite parting ways many years ago, Erykah Badu and Andre 3000 are still good friends. The two have been able to amicably co-parent their son, Seven Sirius Benjamin, now 19. During a 2014 interview with Vibe magazine, Andre 3000 opened up about his relationship with his ex. Unlike many people who never recover from breakups, he and Erykah still have a unique bond.

“Erykah and I are cool friends, man,” Andre told Vibe back in 2014. “We talk on the phone. She even asks my advice on relationships. She’s like a cool sister more than anything. The first thing people would think about us is, ‘Oh, they don’t get along.’ But there are always feelings when people grow apart. It’s something you have to get through. But man, we are cool.”
