MEET SUSAN PLAYER-JARREAU, THE ACTRESS & MODEL
Susan Player-Jarreau (pictured above) was an actress in a few popular film that were geared toward the young adult and teen audience throughout the mid to late 70’s. She’s best known for her roles in Malibu Beach, Les AdolescenTes, The Pom Pom Girls, High School Girls.

AL JARREAU’S WIFE’S HISTORY OF SEXUAL ABUSE HELPED CHANGE CALIFORNIA LAW
In 1991, Susan Player-Jarreau revealed to the LA Times that she’d been sexually abused from the age of 6 to 14, but that because there was a statute of limitations law in California at that time she could not press charges against her abuser. She then teamed up with power attorney, Gloria Allred and then Republican Assemblywoman, Paula Boland, to fight the law, ultimately getting a new law passed in California that ended the statute of limitations for sexual assault crimes against children in that state.
Susan had also revealed to LA Times that she did not truly have those horrific memories of her sex abuse surface until her early 20’s, stating that “It’s such a horrible crime […] When you’re a 6-year-old, all you know is that it’s yucky.” Although it was sad that her child abuser was able to walk scott-free, thankfully Susan did get therapy, which helped her to cope with her childhood trauma.
