Wow! Old School Celebs Held It DOWN At Soul Train Awards!

Old schoolers showed up to the Soul Train Awards rockin’ shut-em-down outfits and gracing both the old and youngins alike with their regal presence.

The show was just taped and since it won’t be airing until November 27, we thought we’d give you a taste of what went down with these spoiler alerts:

ERYKAH BADU

TEDDY RILEY

Teddy Riley honored with Legend Award and his musical colleagues celebrated him on stage. He was honored by his former crew, Wreckx n’Effect, Bobby Brown, Doug E. Fresh, Guy,  V. Bozeman and the one and only Tito Jackson! Cedric the Entertainer did the honors of presented Teddy with his award.

SOUL CYPHER LINEUP

Soul Train did their second annual Soul Cypher and guess who stepped into the loop?

Gladys Knight! She was also joined by Tyrese, Ne-Yo, Angie Stone and musician (and Jill Scott’e ex-boyfriend/her former song collaborator), Robert Glasper, who if you don’t know him by now, you might wanna get to know him, like yesterday! He’s collaborated, written, and produced for many of your favorite artists and he’s FIRE on keys. Anyways, he and Gladys performed together on the show.

DRU HILL

They had a slew of hits to perform and y’all already know they had the stage LIT!

INDIA.ARIE

Surprisingly, India.Arie joined forces with Erykah Badu to perform a single called “Breathe.”

ELISE NEAL

All we can say about 50 year old actress, Elise Neal, is GOOD GOOGLY MOOGLY! (Shout out to the late great “Grady”).

The “Wish I Never Met Her” crooner stepped back on the scene to the delight of his many loyal fans.

BRANDY

Brandy was honored with the Lady of Soul Award. Then she got had the crowed rockin’ with her performance medley of  also “Sitting on Top of the World,” “Almost Doesn’t Count,” “Full Moon,” “The Boy Is Mine” and  she even took us back when she brought out Mase to perform one of her throwbacks.  Babyface, Jazmine Sullivan, and Jhené Aiko paid homage to Brandy via video recording.

JILL SCOTT

Jill Scott also performed and speaking of Robert Glasper, he’s her ex-boyfriend who worked on several of her earlier projects. That’s Black history though, because Jill is happily newly married to her husband, Mike Dobson.

Benet hit the stage with his signature smooth sound.

OTHER PERFORMANCES

New schoolers held their own too. Ro James, BJ the Kid, Yuna and Anderson Paak are all dope artists and he did his their thing on stage.

Tamar Braxton hosted the red carpet pre-show event looking like she ain’t got o worries after her recent domestic dispute with her hubby, VinceElise Neal, Bell Biv DeVoe, Lalah Hathaway, Teyana Taylor, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Papoose, MC Lyte, After 7, BLACKstreet, Tamar Braxton, Keke Wyatt, Tank, V. Bozeman, and others all graced  the red carpet with their presence.
